Description

A Heriz carpet woven around 1890-1900 with a rarer and hard to find all over leaf design. Most antique Heriz carpets we come across have been woven with a central motif and elaborate corner spandrels. This carpet is more refined and classical with the repeating gold leaves.  Lovely pale yellows and soft blues on a warm red background have been used to create an elegant rug ideal for under a dining table or drawing room.

We have also placed many of this type in a study too as they work with dark woods and oak furniture beautifully.

Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus and vivid colours like this particular carpet.  A decorative yet practical carpet which has been used for over 100 years and stood the test of time.

We offer the service of viewing any of our carpets & rugs in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment. Please use our request home visit service to view this carpet in your own home. Alternatively star many rugs to view at home which will be saved and then can be enquired about.
