Description

An amazing detailed classical antique Meshed carpet with a fine pattern of flowing flowers and vines.    Signed by the weaver too as this is one of the finest quality of carpets woven in Eastern Persia in the province of Khorassan.  The palette of these carpets is varying shades of deep red, purple tones, berry colours, deep blues and purples.  Woven on a neutral colour background this allows the beautiful detail to be seen.  The intricate design would have been drawn on paper which is known as a cartoon, allowing the accomplished weavers to create this exceptional work of art.  These carpets where woven in workshops and more often commissioned for the western market in the early 20th century.

Which is the era this carpet dates from, circa 1900-1910 the faded subtle dyes help us date carpets as well as the weave and design.  In remarkable condition all over, with a dense finely spun wool pile which is very high throughout and makes this ideal for many rooms, a dining room, drawing room or study.
