The pile is very high on this piece and would be a durable addition to a room, working with contemporary or traditional furniture. Woven in the last 1/4 of the 19th century it has a great soft feel and more geometric than some Heriz the style is that of a Karaja village weaving too.
Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus and vivid colours like this particular carpet. A decorative yet practical carpet which has been used for over 100 years and has already stood the test of time.
