A rare Serapi rug in perfect condition with an elegant design and beautiful soft colours. Serapi is a name given to better quality versions of Heriz rugs thought to have been woven before 1900.
Heriz is a city located in north-west of Persia and near the city of Tabriz a major rug-weaving centre. Serapi and Heriz rugs are very famous worldwide, they have their own very unique style and are easily distinguishable from other styles. The colors of Serapi and Heriz rugs consist of terracottas, reds, light and dark pink, light and dark blues with ivory and creams.
