Rare antique silk Tabriz rug with a rich palette of silk colours in perfect condition. Tabriz is a region in the north of Persia and produced some of the finest classical Persian carpets and rugs.  This piece has resided in a private collection for many years and has been hung on a wall.  The condition is near perfect.

Finer classical carpets such as Tabriz, Isfahan and Kum Kapi have always been desirable collectable items.

Rugs and carpets have been made in Tabriz in Persia for centuries, but it has only been a major producer since the mid 19th century. They still weave marvellous fine silk carpets in Tabriz today such as this extremely fine example. Woven with such intricacy using silk to highlight the beautiful designs.
