Description

A fabulous antique Turkish Aydin Kilim woven in two halves and joined to create an unusually large piece. Beautiful vegetable dyes are used in weaving this early antique Turkish Kilim from western Anatolia. The Kilim is in very good, original condition dating from 1870.

. . .

Bold geometric kilim rugs, covers and tent or wall hangings have been made by Turkish, Yoruk, Kurdish and Turkmen nomads in Anatolia. These antique ethnographic tribal Oriental rugs called “kilims” or “kelims,” are tapestry-woven, brocaded or of combined techniques.

We offer the service of viewing any of our carpets & rugs in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment.
