Antique Kurdish Luri rug

Circa 1890
186 × 107 cm 6’1” x 3’6”
£2,750

Description

An Antique Kurdish Luri rug with a very interesting field design of repeating flowers which in turn create a repeating diamond design.  The condition of this rug is very good with complete ends and selvedges.  Natural dyes have mellowed and make this a wonderful interesting addition for the floor or to hang on a wall.

These tribal Persian rugs were generally woven in or around the Zagros Mountains area of western Persia by the Lurs people.

. . .

These Persian carpets are beautiful tribal art, often primitive but have wonderful designs and colours.

Please request a home visit to try this rug in-situ at a convenient day and time to suit you. If you would like to view hundreds of antique rugs, please do come and visit our barn showroom in Crondall, Surrey.
