A wonderful tribal Antique Luri rug with a very interesting geometric medallion design, with fabulous corner spandrels of vibrant colour. The flowers in the main design with abstract heads are really interesting as is the vivid change in colour in the main background, from light blue to deep blue to almost black. These natural dyes have mellowed and make this a wonderful interesting addition for the floor supplied with our strong underlay.
These tribal Persian rugs were generally woven in or around the Zagros Mountains area of western Persia by the Lurs people. These Persian carpets are beautiful tribal art, often primitive but have wonderful designs and colours.
