The weavers would have used what was known as a ‘cartoon’ which was a drawing to make sure the symmetry was near perfect, as you would have had maybe 5-6 weavers working on this carpet at one time. It would have taken over a year to weave maybe even two years. Such an amazing carpet in very good condition, no large areas of damage just some minimal wear due to the carpets age. In general it is in honest original condition and very useable for a dining room, drawing room, study, bedroom…the possibilities of where to use this remarkable carpet are endless.
