A very rare antique Tabriz Kelleh, woven in the late 19th century, a wonderful intricate and fine weave with this beautiful symmetrical medallion design. Tabriz were famous for weaving elegant fine carpets with warm red, pinkish tones, golden yellows and deep blues, this colour palette is a classical one and showcases the remarkable natural dyes they created over 130 years ago.
In fabulous condition all over with a soft wool pile, woven on a cotton foundation. It is incredibly rare to find a Tabriz in this long Kelleh, corridor size, this would have undoubtedly have been a bespoke order for the Western market.
