Description

Antique Kuba rug in good condition. Some corrosion to the brown dye, giving the design an embossed feel. A great caucasian rug from the late 19th century. Kuba rugs are probably the finest and most tightly woven rugs from the Caucasus. Closely related to Shirvans and Dagestans, they are distinguished by a dense ribbed structure and higher knot count. They do have  medallions in their compositions but they are best known for their allover patterns of small, carefully worked motifs.
