Description

Classical antique Tabriz rug with a glorious subtle palette, the design has been beautifully executed with scrolling flower-laden branches around the refined central medallion. The soft saffron yellow border is an unusual colour and has faded to a great shade that only a late 19th century rug will have. The condition is excellent, with a good high pile all over. There is only a small old area of restoration in the darker blue outer edge, but it is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the elegance and charm of this rug.

. . .

Tabriz is located in the north-west of Persia, it was the major center for production of rugs and carpets. They more than often will have central medallions but like every rug, the dyes play a huge part in a rugs beauty. It is the soft muted colours combined with the well thought put design that make this rug so appealing. Please feel free to email or call us with any further questions about this antique Tabriz rug.
