Description

An almost full pile antique runner from Heriz in the north-west of Persia woven in the early 20th century.  In excellent condition, with a very nice soft wool pile throughout and complete ends and selvedges.  A very attractive and durable runner for an entrance hall or corridor, the pale blue and golden yellow dyes give this runner lots of life.  As many of these runners draw influences from the Caucasus weavers in Azerbaijan this runner has an interesting Lenokran Caucasian design which is the large medallions repeatingin the main field.

. . .

Heriz is not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs.  A very solid and useable Heriz runner, perfect for a busy hallway to add charm and colour.

Visit our barn showroom in the beautiful village of Crondall in Surrey to see this antique Heriz runner and many more.  Alternatively request a home visit, we love travelling around the UK showing our antique rugs in customers homes.  You can view lots of different rug options in the comfort of your own home to see what works best with your own interior.
