£4,250

Description

A beautiful, tribal antique Heriz runner in very good original condition.  The design is superb with repeating medallions down the centre of the runner.  The pile height is good, so ideal for even in a very busy hallway.  The dyes are all vegetable and the colours have aged very nicely, creating a lovely looking decorative piece.  A tomato red background, golden yellows and great blue/green dyes.  Woven in the early part of the 20th century, these tribal runners are full of great colours and designs to add character to your home

Request a home visit to arrange an ideal day and time for us to visit you to show you this antique Heriz runner in situ, so you can see if the size, colour and design works in your home.  We travel all over the UK helping customers and interior designers.

. . .

Heriz and Karaja are not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. The central motif is often the latch-hooked design motif or an eight-pointed star.  The village weavings of Karaja such as this runner often use a simpler repeating medallion design with a great array of colour.
