Description

Antique Kazak Rug. Rugs bearing this name come from the highland area of the Caucasus whose centre is the town of Kazak. Woven by semi-nomadic shepherds of the region. They are principally antique, though a limited number are still being made in the area today. This rug has rich colours, assertive, geometric drawing and a bold large-scale design.

They have earned themselves a reputation of being hard wearing and resistant to damage.

. . .

They use fabulous vegetable dyes and high quality hand spun wool from their own herd. Kazak’s and rugs from the caucasus are becoming very collectable because of their varied designs and vibrant colours.
