Description
An early rare and very beautiful early antique Tabriz rug with a glorious subtle palette, the design has been executed with refinement by the expert weaver. Woven in the late 19th century, around 1870-1880 with intricate corner spandrels and a sublime refined central medallion. The palette of colours with muted greens, blues and subtle pinks makes for an exquisite rare size Tabriz. Rarely do we find rugs from the city of Tabriz in a 9 x 6 feet size, as they did not produce this size often.
An ancient look and feel with some lower areas of pile, but for its age of 150 plus years, it is still a very durable, collectable rug. With underlay supplied by ourselves this further aids its strength, adding body to the rug on a floor.

Tabriz is a city located in the north-west of Persia, it was the major centre for production of rugs and carpets. They more than often will have central medallions but like every rug, the dyes play a huge part in a rugs beauty. It is the soft muted colours combined with the well thought put design that make this rug so appealing. Please feel free to email or call us with any further questions about this antique Tabriz rug.
