Description
A rare magnificent antique Chajli caucasian rug in perfect condition. These rugs are woven in the Shirvan region and have some bold designs usually with 3 medallions with a colourful latch-hook design.
Chajli rugs use some fantastic motifs with 3 of the 8 pointed star medallions, two usually are the same colour with one ivory in the centre. The Moghan style motifs are woven using early dyes, the purple dye in particular is noted as a good dye.
