Description

A very fine antique Karaja rug woven in the north-west of Persia in the early 20th century.  A great fine weave and the detailing on the background is really beautiful, filled with lots of small stylised flowers and leaves and maybe even some strawberries! In good pile all over and woven with gorgeous natural colours of this period.

Heriz carpets and rugs are famous for their durability and are one of the toughest antique rugs due to the good quality wool that was used.

. . .

They are still extremely popular today, whether in an 18th Century home with exposed beams or a modern home with contemporary furniture. Their warm colours and interesting designs make them an excellent compliment to any interior.

We offer the service of viewing any of our carpets & rugs in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment. Please request a home visit or come to our barn showroom in Crondall, Surrey.
