Description

A beautiful warm coloured antique Heriz runner with pale pinks, blues and ivory tones. The soft blue abrash (term for dye change) in the minor borders add lots of character to this antique runner ideal for a hall or corridor.  Condition wise it is extremely good indeed, with a dense durable wool pile all over, professionally washed by ourselves and ready for the floor.

Heriz and Karaja are not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. The central motif is often the latch-hooked design motif or an eight-pointed star.  The village weavings of Karaja such as this runner often use a simpler repeating medallion design with a great array of colour.
