Description

A rare pair of antique Tabriz rugs with the glorious Persian ‘Mustafi’ design. Beautifully executed with scrolling flower-laden branches using the finest handspun wool which gives the rugs a beautiful sheen and silky feel. Fantastic dyes, using a varied palate of blues, pinks and reds. The condition is excellent with a good high pile all over and they have been woven by master weavers in Tabriz as the weave is extremely fine.

. . .

They have had no repairs and no marks or stains, a remarkable pair of elegant refined rugs ideal for hanging on the wall or used on the floor.

Tabriz is located in the north-west of Persia, it was the major center for production of rugs and carpets. They more than often will have central medallions but like every rug, the dyes play a huge part in a rugs beauty. It is the soft muted colours combined with the well thought out design that make these rugs so appealing. Please feel free to email or call us with any further questions about this antique Tabriz rug.

Please contact us to request a home visit to try this rug in situ, we love to travel all over the UK showing carpets and rugs in customers homes.  Our showroom is located in Crondall, Surrey an hours drive south from London if you would prefer to see all our antique and contemporary rugs.
