Description

A fantastic really long antique Heriz runner from Persia in the north-west, a famous area for weaving durable attractive runners, rugs and carpets.  Woven in the early 20th century dating from around 1910-1915 the weave is fine and the wool pile is dense.  Often these rugs and runners were known as the iron rugs of Persia as they were so tough and durable.

The runner has been cleaned by ourselves and ready to add character and colour to a long corridor, hall or landing. We have a vast selection of long antique runners so please do contact us if you are looking for a specific size.

Visit our barn showroom in the beautiful village of Crondall in Surrey to see this antique Heriz runner and hundreds more.  Or please do ask us for a home visit, we love travelling around the UK showing our antique pieces in customers homes.  You can view lots of options then to see what works best with your own interior.

Heriz is not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs.  A very solid and useable Heriz runner, perfect for a busy hallway to add charm and colour.
