Antique Malayer rug

Circa 1900
190 × 130 cm 6’2” x 4’3”
£2,950

Description

An antique Malayer rug woven around 120 years ago, woven on an off white background and border colour, the soft pink tones with pale blues and greens are delightful.  As is the subtle vase design in the main field, similar to that of the Zil-e Sultan design.  Zil-e was the eldest of the Shah of Persia around 1840.  The son was not in line to the throne so he designed his own royal symbol which is the repeating bird and vase design we see in the centre of this rug.

Gorgeous muted colours and in fair condition, it does have lower areas of pile in places but still a durable and highly decorative antique rug.  Supplied with our anti-slip underlay, this helps add body and strength to a rug, thus preventing further wear.

If you would like to view this rug at home, please make contact in your preferred way.  We love visiting customers at home all over the country showing our rugs in-situ, or at our barn showroom in Crondall, Surrey.

Purchase this beautiful antique Malayer rug online via our secure checkout and we shall ship this rug safely to your home with underlay included.
