Sultanabad carpet

320 × 248 cm 10’5” x 8’1”

A greyish mushroom tone background on this contemporary Sultanabad carpet using a variation of light natural dyes and traditional designs from the antique carpets woven in Sultanabad.  As the weavers use beautiful varied wool with different shades of grey tones, it gives the carpet a lot of depth and character.  As it is not just one, flat colour, this helps to create character on a modern carpet and make the piece look antique in many ways and not a fresh new look.  Pale blues, greens and reds have been used for the abstract floral design, making it easy to place in a drawing room or bedroom for example.

A lovely soft wool pile and cotton foundation, these hand-woven carpets take around 6-8 months to weave and are of the highest quality.

If you request a home visit, you can choose a suitable day and time for us to show you this lovely contemporary Sultanabad carpet in your own home.  We travel all over the UK showing our antique and contemporary carpets to private customers and interior designers.  Or book in a showroom visit, we love to welcome customers to our barn in Crondall, Surrey.

. . .

We have been producing beautiful quality contemporary hand-made carpets since 1990. All our carpets and rugs use hand-spun wool and natural dyes woven within a fair trade weaving scheme to help aid the end of illegal child labour.  Hand-woven in Turkey, this new production of Sultanabad carpets are beautifully created all by hand, using natural hand-spun wool and soft dyes.

Any of our carpets can be viewed in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment. Alternatively please arrange an appointment to visit our barn showroom in Crondall, Surrey.  We would love to show you lots of carpets and rugs.
