This beautiful modern Sultanabad carpet uses designs from the famous antique Ziegler carpets woven in the late 19th century in Sultanabad, Persia. Woven with subtle lilac purple main background colour, this is an unusual yet beautiful palette even for a modern rug. The border is a very muted blue/grey tone and balances the other colours well. Contemporary rugs such as these can work in a variety of rooms, we have placed them with traditional furniture as well as in contemporary settings.
