This oversize Sultanabad carpet is exceptional in its drawing, with a beautiful all over design – well proportioned floral palmettes and the gentlest of natural dyes. Producing a classical Ziegler/Sultanabad design from the late 19th century, with faded pale dyes to rival an antique carpet of the same name. All hand-woven using soft wool and a cotton foundation, using weaving techniques to match the antique carpets, we hope this is destined to be an antique of the future. The look it has now means it could be used in a traditional setting or contemporary designed room. That is the beauty of these contemporary reproductions of Sultanabad carpets, they have so much charm and character like an old piece.
Taking approximately 18-24 months to weave, this is one of the best productions of contemporary carpets on the market currently, using traditional designs with an open feel, they are even better to view up close and in your home.
