Karaja carpets and rugs were woven in a village in the northeast of the Heriz region of Persia, not far from the Azerbaijan Border. Their carpets and rugs often use 8 pointed star motifs and sometimes they weave in animals and people which adds great interest. They are easily recognisable with three repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. Other designs are the latch-hooked design a tribal motif we can see on this rich exciting carpet.
We offer the service of viewing any of our carpets & rugs in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment. A free, no obligation service we have offered for over 30 years.
