A very beautiful antique Hamadan rug, woven in north Persia around circa 1890, it is in exceptional condition all over and uses a large scale floral design. The variety and depth of colour is fantastic! The subtle changes in the rust reds to faded pink tones add a lot of charm and interest. With bright vibrant natural dyes from the late 19th Century, we love the scale of the pattern and the flowing vine floral border using wonderful pale blue and green dyes.
