Acontemporary Sultanabad rug, a small light border surrounds the pale blue toned background, using rustic orange tones, sage greens and gold hues and aubergine tones to add warmth. All hand-woven with natural dyes and all hand-spun wool. The wonderful small floral palmettes and vine designs we see on this modern rug are from the famous workshop carpets from Sultanabad, and specifically the Ziegler & Co from the late 19th century.
As these are hand-woven using all natural materials and woven in the same way as antique rugs were, they are incredibly tough, durable as well as beautiful rugs for the floor. Unlike machine made rugs, the wool is strong and dyes are colour fast – this way we are certain these rugs will last for decades and can be used in any room. Suitable for busy family life and perfect for children and pets, with soft wool these can be cleaned and maintained by our cleaning and repair workshop. We have been selling these contemporary carpets and rugs for over 10 years now and have cleaned many which have had accidents, and they all clean and brighten up beautifully.
