A pale off white background on this contemporary Sultanabad rug, with a soft blue/grey tone border and hints of pinks, golds and reds with some rare green dyes too. All hand-woven with pale natural dyes and hand-spun wool, this is a rare square size to find even in a contemporary rug.
The wonderful small floral palmettes and vine designs we see on this modern rug are from the famous workshop carpets from Sultanabad, and specifically the Ziegler & Co from the late 19th century. A lovely contemporary rug with beautiful soft muted colours.
