Heriz and Karaja are not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. The central motif is often the latch-hooked design motif or an eight-pointed star. The village weavings of Karaja such as this runner often use a simpler repeating medallion design with a great array of colour.

A beautiful warm coloured antique Heriz runner with rustic orange tones, pale blues and ivory corners. Lovely greens and indigo blues, a great geometric design and full of character. Condition wise it is very good, with a dense durable wool pile all over, minimal wear and professionally washed by ourselves and ready for the floor. We supply excellent underlay with every carpet, runner or rug too which aids the runner and keeps it secure on the floor.
