Vintage Aubusson carpet

Circa 1980
315 × 239 cm 10’4” x 7’10”

A vintage Aubusson carpet woven in the last 40 years using natural wool and subtle pink and light dyes.  As it has some age to it, the dyes have mellowed, making it look like an antique piece.  As antique Aubusson are expensive this vintage carpet has the look of an antique piece at the fraction of the cost.  It has been professionally washed by ourselves recently and is looking very elegant and ready to be used again.

If you would like to request a home visit to view this vintage Aubusson in-situ, we would love to help you.  We travel all over the UK helping customers and interior designers find the ideal rug and showing our carpets in-situ.

. . .

Aubusson is a town on the Creuse River in central France and it has been famed for its carpets as well as tapestries since the 15th century. Aubusson carpets made in tapestry technique are among the most elegant antique floor coverings. The true date when the production of flat woven tapestry Aubusson carpets in France began is not known.
