One antique Malayer carpet cushion from a beautiful set of four cushions hand-crafted from an antique Malayer carpet, which was sadly beyond restoration. Dating from the late 19th century the natural dyes on these cushions are really stunning, with early greens, soft reds and aubergine dyes. It is wonderful to be able to produce these hand-crated cushions using remnants of antique carpets. Malayer is an area in Western Persia, which produced varying designs. These cushions have the famous ‘Herati’ design, which shows two leaves around a flower. As this carpet was around 130 years old, there is some visible wear on the cushions, adding wonderful character to each one.
These cushions have a light brown corduroy backing and are filled with feather inserts, there is also a zip to remove the insert if needed. We have 4 of these cushions in total produced from the same carpet, please view all the extra images to see them all together.
