Description

An antique Mahal runner with amazing colours and repeating vase design. Mahal carpets, rugs and runners were produced in Sultanabad, Persia which is now Arak in the centre of Iran. Mahal and Sultanabad rugs were made in the same area as the earliest Fereghans and Sarouks, but they are very different in form and structure.  It is rare to find antique runners from Mahal, as they did not produce many and favoured weaving larger carpets.  The soft blues, yellows and varying reds make a handsome antique runner.

In very good condition in general, with minimal wear, please view all the additional images to see the piece up close.

If you would like to request a home visit to view this stunning antique Mahal runner in situ at a convenient time please do, we love to travel and visit customers all over the UK.  Alternatively please contact us to book in an appointment to visit our barn showroom in Surrey.
