Description
Ushak’s were woven in the Anatolian highlands south of Istanbul, they are famous for producing wool carpets and rugs, rarely weaving kilims and scarcely seen in these larger sizes. Stunning geometric pale blue medallion design with beautiful interesting corner spandrels each filled with colourful floral motifs in an array of fun colours. The pale green border with flowing ribbon design is a fabulous natural dye, and an expensive colour to produce, as green required double dyeing, as this colour was not obtained from one source.
Condition is dazzling! A fine weave and a brilliant decorative kilim which would brighten and enhance any room.
