Description

An antique runner with large floral motifs that are well drawn with a lot of soft colour. A pretty antique Heriz weaving that has some great indigo blues and soft pinks.  What is especially nice is that it is not too wide, often long antique runners are very wide.  The main pile of the runner is exceptional, the wool pile is high nearly all over this piece.

. . .

Only a couple of slightly lower areas of pile.  A very durable and decorative item to enhance a corridor or hall space.  More often Heriz runners are more geometrical in their design, as the repeating medallions are more like flowers rather than stars that we would often see.

Heriz carpets, rugs and runners are famous for their durability and are one of the toughest antique weavings due to the good quality wool that was used. They are still extremely popular today, whether in an 18th Century home with exposed beams or a modern home with contemporary furniture. Their warm colours and interesting designs make them an excellent compliment to any interior.

We love to visit customers all over the UK showing our inventory of antique and contemporary carpets, rugs and runners in situ.  Request a home visit below to arrange a time for us to show you this runner in your home.
