With a lrage leaf and large palmette design you would usually see on antique Ziegler carpets from late 19th century. The variety of soft pale blues, golden yellows, soft pinks, greens, off-white tones and the whole colour composition is really fabulous.
This contemporary carpet has modern lighter colours, using traditional designs, the main border of a subtle flowing vine is executed beautifully by the best weavers today. The dyes are faded yet have warmth, with lovely pale blues, sage green tones, burnt oranges, dusky pinks, the best light blues, gold hues, and hints of warmer reds, there are so many colours to work in an existing scheme or to build a room around this carpet. It would be a lot of fun choosing fabrics to work with this wonderful carpet.
