Description

Since the 16th Century English needlepoints have been hand-stitched on canvas.  During the 19th Century the was a resurgence in their popularity, incorporating floral patterns and birds, in part due to the impact of the growing Arts and Crafts movement.  Pioneered in Britain by figures like William Morris, himself well known for his needlepoint textiles and carpets.

This English Needlepoint was woven in the early 20th century, and has some exquisite detailing with birds sitting on the flowing leafy vines.  The gentlest of colours have been used and woven in panels, this needlepoint has been reduced in size, and we can see some areas of wear in places.  Please view the close up detail images to see the areas of wear and the overall condition.  It would look beautiful hung in an entrance hall, or above a bed for example.

Book an appointment to view this English Needlepoint at home or please come and visit us in our barn showroom in Crondall, Surrey by appointment.

If this needlepoint is purchased online using our secure checkout, we shall deliver it you ourselves or by our expert couriers safely and swiftly.  We ship all of our carpets, rugs, runners and textiles worldwide.
