A pretty antique Bakshaish rug with an all over design. The variation of dyes enhance the rugs appeal with a soft pale blue border and delicate pink/red tones. A great rug to place in front of a fireplace or in a bedroom.  Woven over 140 years ago, the condition is very good indeed.

Bakshaish is a region very near to Heriz in the north-west of Persia, they tended to be softer in colour and have a geometric design of leaves and birds. This Bakshaish rug has a repeating diamond motif and very soft dyes to its age, woven around the later part of the 19th century.
