Description
A vintage Sarouk carpet woven around 1980 with lovely colours, it is rare for us to hold this age of carpet in our inventory. We always love to help our customers the best we can, our predecessor set up his rug company in Farnham in 1975, and our business was formed in 2009 after his sad passing. With this history, many of our customers come back to us time and time again, and we recently sold an antique carpet to a client and we helped them by trading in this younger vintage Sarouk. As it is a beautiful example for its age, with a soft dense wool pile and in a large size. We have washed this carpet at our workshop and it is ready for use on the floor. Our excellent anti-slip underlay is also included in the price.
These Sarouk town rugs and carpets were commissioned for the western market around the beginning of the 20th Century and they continued weaving them in various styles up to 1990. Town carpets from this region always display intricate floral designs with vines and central medallions.
