A lovely light ground contemporary Sultanabad carpet, with a wonderful open design, beautifully drawn, the minor border is a deeper blue/grey colour with abstract flowers and leaves, the large palmette design in the centre is really well spaced out too. Using the best natural dyes, these are hand-woven using the very best wool and soft colours. The natural dyes are faded and gentle, with sage green tones, dusky pinks, light blues, and hints of warmer reds in the small flowers in the border. This carpet could be mistaken for being an antique Ziegler over 100 years old, it has been beautifully hand-crafted by the best weavers.
Using famous designs from antique Ziegler carpets, with large scale palmettes and flowing vines, they could be mistaken for antique carpets, as the colour palette and weave is executed so incredibly well.
