Woven in East Azerbaijan province of Northern Persia, Heriz is an area famous for richly coloured geometric carpets.  This unusual Heriz is woven with a Karaja all over star and latch-hook design in brilliant warm colours.  Karaja is a neighbouring village around less than 1 hour from Heriz region.  These tribal weavers would travel and see varying designs and implement them into their carpets, which is what makes antique carpets so fascinating! A fantastic design and in great pile and condition this carpet was woven over 100 years ago and now we have professionally washed this carpet it is ready for the floor.
